LEADS from LLAMA

LLAMA is accepting nominations for the ALA/LLAMA representative to the Management and Marketing Section Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).  The selected representative will serve from 2017-21 and is eligible for one reappointment to the 2021-25 term.  Individuals can only serve on one IFLA committee at a time. View the list of IFLA standing committees and current ALA/Unit representatives.

Qualifications
Any LLAMA member can submit a nomination. The nominee should be an expert in the field covered by the section and have knowledge of at least one working language of IFLA (English is an IFLA working language). He/she should also have reasonable expectation of attending meetings of the standing committee.  LLAMA does not provide financial support for IFLA attendance.

Nominations
If interested, please send the following to LLAMA Executive Director Kerry Ward (kward@ala.org) by June 15, 2016:
(a) an indication of acceptance of the nomination by the individual, if you are not nominating yourself;
(b) a short statement detailing the nominee’s qualifications and indication of present position;
(c) affirmation that the person can fulfill the working language and travel requirements

The LLAMA Board will review nominations at the 2016 ALA Annual Conference in Orlando, and submit a recommendation to IFLA. If you have questions, please contact Kerry Ward for additional information.
