INVITATION TO COO MEETING
LAMA Committee on Organization, known as LAMA COO, has been asked by the Executive Committee of the Board to discuss how LAMA can be restructured to make the organization more effective and more efficient. LAMA currently has over 60 committees with approximately 500 members. Is that the best way to structure our work to meet the changing needs of our members?
At the Monday, January 12, 2004 COO meeting, the Committee will host an open discussion to explore alternatives to our current structure. We will be joined by Flo Wilson, a past-president of LITA, who will explain how LITA uses Interest Groups, task forces, and other discussion groups instead of standing committees to meet the needs of their members. This meeting will be an opportunity to help us shape the future of LAMA’s organizational structure. We hope you will be able to join us for this discussion. COO will meet from 2:00-5:30 p.m, on Monday, at the Embassy Suites, Topeka room. We hope to see you then.
–Joan Giesecke, Chair, LAMA COO
