DIANA V. BRADDOM FRFDS SCHOLARSHIP SEEKS APPLICANTS
Librarians and library staff members eager to enhance their fundraising skills through formal financial development training are invited to submit an application essay for the Diana V. Braddom FRFDS Scholarship. The deadline for entries is January 2, 2003. This scholarship, made possible through the personal generosity of Diana Braddom, offers support to those seeking to learn new fundraising skills to enable them to increase funding to their libraries from public, private and corporate sources. Each year two scholarship recipients will receive a stipend of $1,000 each to be used to attend the LAMA Fundraising and Financial Development programs at 2003 ALA/CLA Annual Conference in Toronto. NLM-AAHSL LEADERSHIP FELLOWS ANNOUNCED
The fellows and mentors in the inaugural class of the leadership program jointly sponsored by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) have been announced. The NLM/ AAHSL Leadership Fellows Program, offered in cooperation with the Association of Research Libraries’ Office of Leadership and Management Services, is focused on preparing emerging leaders for academic health sciences libraries. Fellows are paired with mentors who are academic health sciences library directors. Further information about the program is available at http://www.arl.org/olms/fellows/.
Among the Fellows are Charles J. Greenberg, Head Reference Librarian, Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, Yale University; mentored by J. Michael Homan (LAMA member), Director of Libraries, Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation; and Patricia C. Higginbottom, Assistant Director for Information and Instructional Services, Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences, University of Alabama at Birmingham; mentored by Judith Messerle (LAMA member), Countway Librarian, Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine.

ALA/CLA ANNUAL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION OPENS EARLY
For the 2003 Annual Conference, the ALA will be holding a joint conference with the Canadian Library Association (http://www.cla.ca/conference/cla_ala2003.htm). The 2003 ALA/CLA Annual Conference will be held in Toronto, ON from June 19 – 25, 2003. The exhibition will take place from June 21-24, 2003 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (http://www.mtccc.com) in Toronto. Registration information will be available in the December issue of American Libraries magazine, and at http://www.ala.org/events/annual2003/ beginning December 1, 2002. The preliminary program will be in the March issue of American Libraries and will include more in-depth information on the various programs and events that will comprise the ALA/CLA Annual Conference.
