Dana Award Deadline Extended

The application deadline for the John Cotton Dana Award (JCD) has been extended to April 1.  The online form and application instructions can be found at: https://johncottondana.nonprofitcms.org/a.

The award, managed by the LLAMA Public Relations and Marketing Section, honors outstanding library public relations. Eight $10,000 awards will be granted by the H.W. Wilson Foundation, and winners will be honored at an awards ceremony during the ALA Annual Conference in Orlando. The event is sponsored by EBSCO Information Services.

The competition is open to libraries of all sizes, types and budgets, as well as agencies and associations that promote library service.

JCD entries are organized around the following areas: needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Libraries submit samples of their processes, research, media releases, media coverage or other results received along with evaluation of the results and other documentation and supporting materials that show the scope and effectiveness of the library’s strategic communication efforts.
