LLAMA webinar presents a new model for interviewing as a recruitment tool

For many academic institutions that do full-day, on-site interviews of librarian candidates, the interview process is a grueling one that is intended to identify and weed out less desirable candidates. But this can send mixed messages to candidates and result in losing talented or diverse candidates. The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Using the Interview as a Recruitment Tool, “on Wed., Nov. 19, at 1:30 – 3:00 PM (Central time). This webinar will present a new model, implemented at Texas A&M University, with restructured interviews where participants are coached on effectively engaging with candidates.

By the end of this webinar, participants will understand how to redesign librarian interviews and set up in-house training programs to move away from a model meant to ‘weed out’ a candidate to one that retains the top, diverse candidates and motivates them to choose your institution.
