LEADS from LLAMA

All incoming LAMA officers, Board members, committee chairs, and section chairs should attend the following orientation session at the ALA Annual Conference: Saturday, June 23, 7:30 – 8:45 a.m., Room 151A of the Washington Convention Center. This orientation is sponsored by the LAMA Leadership Development Committee. A continental breakfast will be served. Other LAMA section officers are also welcome if they wish to attend.

Highlights of the orientation will include:

– an overview of the LAMA Strategic Plan and the part you will play to help LAMA achieve its objectives;

– helpful guidance and tips for fulfilling your leadership responsibilities and meeting important deadlines;

– information about the support available from the LAMA Office;

– an update on the recruitment of the new LAMA executive director;

– and presentations from the chair of the LAMA Publishing Committee, the editor of LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT, and the chair of the LAMA Program Committee.

I look forward to seeing you at the orientation – please bring all your questions about what will be expected of you in your new LAMA leadership role. This is your opportunity to meet other LAMA leaders and benefit from their guidance on how you can lead your LAMA!
