LLAMA Webinar: Cultivating Emotional Intelligence within Your Organization
If you have ever struggled to keep a lid on your emotions when you were under pressure at work, you are not alone. Many people find that work stress contributes to feeling a loss of control and can sometimes interfere with work relationships. Improving your emotional intelligence may help you turn this around. In practical terms, emotional intelligence (IE) means learning how emotions can drive our behavior and impact other people, and learning how to manage those emotions, especially when we are under pressure.
The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Cultivating Emotional Intelligence within Your Organization,” on Wednesday, May 16, at 1:30-3:00 pm Central Time. This webinar will provide multiple strategies for incorporating emotional intelligence into a library culture and describes the impacts, both positive and unintended, that this can have on the organization.
Participants will learn to:
– Define emotional intelligence (EI)
– Identify strategies for building EI into an organizational culture
– Select appropriate EI strategies at their own institutions
– Recognize the potential impact and effects of building EI into an organizational culture
This webinar addresses two of LLAMA’s Foundational Leadership Competencies: emotional intelligence and team building.
