LLAMA Webinar: The MOU – Your Blueprint for Managing Collaborative Projects

As libraries collaborate more and more on projects with outside partners, it’s crucial that the process go smoothly for all parties and that expectations are made clear beforehand. A memorandum of understanding (MOA) is often the best way to assure this. The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “The MOU: Your Blueprint for Managing Collaborative Projects,” on Wed., October 18, at 1:30 – 3:00 pm (Central time).

This webinar will present successful examples of MOUs for collaborative projects, and will include details about how they were structured and developed. Participants will have access to a workbook that will help them create their own MOU’s.

Participants will learn:

Perspectives of outside stakeholders
– Overlooked MOU details, and common pitfalls
– Methods of troubleshooting issues and negotiating with partners
– How to use an MOU to plan projects and meet/manage expectations of external partners
– How an MOU can help document the relationship and project plan with library partners
– How to use an MOU to assure agreed upon outcomes and avoid scope creep

This webinar will help participants increase their competency in collaboration and partnerships; and project management. These are included in LLAMA’s 14 foundational leadership competencies.
