LEADS from LLAMA

LLAMA and its sections work to meet the needs of our members and profession, and we need your talent and ideas! There are volunteer opportunities at both the LLAMA-wide level and in each of the sections:
Buildings and Equipment (BES)
Fundraising and Financial Development (FRFDS)
Human Resources (HRS)
Library Organization and Management (LOMS)
Measurement, Assessment, and Evaluation (MAES)
Public Relations and Marketing (PRMS)
Systems and Services (SASS)

To volunteer for a division or section committee, login to the ALA website http://www.ala.org with your usual login/password and then go to:
http://www.ala.org/groups/committees/volunteer/frm_vol  (IE seems to be a better browser for managing the form.) At the bottom of the page you’ll see the link to the Committee Volunteer Form. Click the link and you’ll see a drop down menu with your division memberships. Simply choose LLAMA and you’ll see all the opportunities available for LLAMA and any section to which you belong.

When you submit the form, you’ll get an email confirmation. Your requests will be reviewed by our division and section leaders, and you will then receive an email asking you to join the committee. Click the link to accept the appointment and you’ll be set to start your committee appointment on July 1, 2012.

Appointments will be made through June, but please apply early as committees may fill up. Please note: anyone who completed the online form after 1/1/12 need not submit it again.

When you serve on a committee you will not only impact your profession, you will develop your leadership skills and build a professional network of colleagues. We hope you’ll be part of the LLAMA’s leadership network in 2012 and beyond!
