Deadline Revised: AIA/ALA Library Buildings Award seeks Jury Applicants

 The Buildings and Equipment Section (BES) Library Building Awards Committee of The Library Administration and Management Association (LLAMA) is seeking nominations and applications for jurors for the 2013 Library Buildings Award competition. Jointly sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the prestigious biennial awards recognize distinguished accomplishments in library architecture by American architects.

The jury consists of three librarians selected by ALA, and three architects selected by AIA. The LLAMA BES Library Building Awards Committee will review applications and select the ALA jurors. The LLAMA President will make the official appointments to the jury in May, 2012. Judging will take place in January, 2013.

Applicants for the jury must be members of ALA and LLAMA. Applicants should also be aware that projects presented in the jurying process are disqualified from consideration if any of the jurors served as a consultant or architect for the project, or is in any way affiliated with the project.  Reviewing, judging and decision making will be done virtually.

Applications must be returned to the LLAMA office by May 18, 2012. Electronic submission is preferred.
