Janine Golden Elected LLAMA Vice-president/President-elect
The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) has elected Dr. Janine Golden as Vice-president/President-elect for 2010-2011. Dr. Golden is an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman’s University, where she has worked since 2007.
“I see a tremendous opportunity for LLAMA as a professional organization to forge a closer relationship with universities, reaching students interested or enrolled in library leadership and management coursework,†said Dr. Golden.
Golden served as Chairperson of the LLAMA Mentoring Committee in 2006-08; and as a member of the President’s Program Committee during LLAMA’s 50th Anniversary in 2006-07.
She received a Ph.D from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005; an M.L.S. from Indiana University in 1982, and a M.Ed. from Pennsylvania State University in 1977.
Dr. Golden’s term as LLAMA Vice-President will begin in June after the ALA Annual Conference in Wash., D.C.
