LLAMA President’s Program will explore servant leadership

Art Headshot_FINAL 3The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Servant Leadership: Tools to inspire and equip those we influence” as its 2015 President’s Program at the 2015 ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco, on Sat., June 27, 10:30 am – 12:00 Noon. Speaker Art Barter is the owner and cultural architect of Datron World Communication, Inc. and CEO and President of Servant Leadership Institute.

This program will provide the basics of what servant leadership is and what it’s not. Art will compare the power model of leadership to the service model and evaluate how these models affect employee engagement and productivity. He will present a case study of servant leadership implementation at Datron World Communications, including an examination of the steps leading to culture transformation, how trust is the foundation for everything, and how servant leader behaviours guide employees’ daily interactions. The program will conclude with a personal assessment of audience members’ current organizational environments and the opportunity to define their roles when influencing change.

Art has presented the servant leadership message to a wide variety of corporate, government, and non-profit audiences throughout the U.S., and he is particularly effective at inspiring and equipping emerging leaders who want to make a difference in the world. Art hold two bachelor’s degrees in business and finance. Prior to joining Datron in 1999, he spent eight years working for the Disney Corporation and more than 25 years at manufacturing companies. In 2004, Art purchased Datron from the Titan Corporation.

Admission is free to all conference attendees.
