LLAMA Webinar Explores Embedded Librarianship
Embedded librarianship– developing strong, collaborative working relationships with communities — is essential to the future of librarians. The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Embedded Librarianship: Connecting the Dots, and Avoiding the Pitfalls,” on June 3, at 1:30-3:00 PM (Central time).
This webinar presents the fundmental elements of embedded librarianship, identifies strategies and practices that lead to success, and points out pitfalls that can derail embedded initiatives. Tactics for adapting successful practices and avoiding or mitigating potential risks are also offered. This webinar offers valuable insights for library professionals who wish to increase their value to their communities.

Presenter: David Shumaker is a Clinical Associate Professor of Library and Information Science, at Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC. He has an extensive record of presentations on the topic of embedded librarianship and is the author of The Embedded Librarian (Information Today, 2012).
