LLAMA/NMRT New Leaders Discussion Group

The New Leaders Discussion group is a collaborative effort between LLAMA and NMRT bringing together new librarians, library school students and experienced librarians for discussions of leadership topics.

Please join us on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm in DCC – A307 for a lively discussion on “How involvement in professional organizations can enhance your day-today job.”

Discussion starters are:

  • Jessica Pryde (Archbishop Carroll High School,Washington, DC)– The Perks of Being a Joiner: How to make the most of your professional involvement
  • Julia Wright (University of North Texas)– Why Current Library Science Students Need to be Involved in Professional Organizations
  • Andrea Mullarkey (Berkeley Public Library, NMRT Governance Chair)– “We Could Do That!” – Bringing Your Conference Ideas Home

Following short presentations, we’ll have table discussions and drawings for great professional opportunities provided by LLAMA and NMRT.
